• (Be) read (to) for 15 minutes a day It is vital to read or be read to every single day. It is important for language development, vocabulary and to get a feel for language. The earlier you start reading, the better.
  • Discover new books Every week, the Reading Corner puts new stories online. That’s 200 new videos per year. In The Reading Corner your bookcase is always filled to the brim. There are scary, adventurous and educational books. It’s also ideal for English people abroad. This way you’ll continue to discover new stories from the comfort of your own home.
  • The joy of reading It can be hard starting new books sometimes… The Reading Corner is here to help! For ages 7 to 10 you can find the first few chapters of a variety of books online. The videos can help peak your curiosity, and perhaps make you want to read the rest of the book. That’s how we aim to put some fun and ease back into reading!
  • SDG 4. Quality Education Number 4 on the list of 17 goals established by the SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) is about quality education: ‘ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.’ The Reading Corner is devoting itself to these SDGs with our online stories. The Reading Corner makes it possible to be read to for 15 minutes a day, every day. This is a great addition to the curriculum in schools and can help to reduce the learning difficulty for children who are ESL or those who are generally struggling or falling behind.
  • Themes The Reading Corner is divided into themes. This way our videos are easily introduced to the curriculum in schools or at day care. Think, for example, about a theme like ‘autumn’. The Reading Corner has different alternatives like the educational children’s book ‘All About the Weather’ & ‘Kids Artists’
